Facilities:The Retreat and Birch Lodge are two large open-plan rooms ideal for use as a wet-weather activity centre, dining room, classroom or common room with tables and chairs for up to 30-people. Both have a well-fitted and modern kitchen area including propane gas cooker and hob, upright fridge/freezer, sink, storage and ample work surfaces for food preparation and serving. A kettle and urn are provided as are two calor gas heaters. The Retreat and Birch Lodge have a connecting door enabling both rooms to be used by one group.
The toilet and shower block provides a urinal, four cubicles and two showers and four hand basins in the boys toilet and three cubicles, a shower and two hand basins plus a vanity area in the girls toilet. There is a new special-needs facility reached via a wheelchair-friendly ramp that includes shower, WC and sink . This can also be designated as a leader’s toilet.
A large campfire circle with log seating and a well-stocked woodpile is located on the edge of Woolgers Wood.
There is ample parking space immediately outside the campsite for up to 20 vehicles. Please note; vehicles are not allowed on the campsite. However trolleys are provided to help you move kit if needed.
